ANOTHER major community arts event is set to be held in Redditch next year following the success of CAFE 2002.
The Community Art Festival Event kicked off last Tuesday and culminated with a jam-packed day of events in the town centre on Saturday.
Groups taking part throughout the week included Alcester Male Voice Choir, Bootleggers, Redditch Choral Society, Redditch Operatic Society, Arrow Vale Singers and Alvechurch Dramatic Society.
Redditch Amateur Theatre Society teamed up with author Anne Bradford to present a Ghost Walk, bringing together supernatural tales from around the town.
Redditch Council's theatre and arts development manager Jonathan Cochrane said CAFE received an extraordinary response from townspeople.
These included Alvechurch Dramatic Society, Redditch Area Music groups, Arrow Vale Singers, Break-a-Leg Theatre Company, Palace Youth Theatre and Gemini Dance School.
Activities also took place at the town hall, ecumenical centre and bandstand and displays were staged in various areas of the Kingfisher Centre.
Mr Cochrane said about 80 people took part in workshops at the town hall.
The final event in the CAFE programme is a free screening of The Man In The White Suit starring Alec Guinness by the FeckenOdeon Cinema Society at Feckenham Village Hall, High Street, from 7pm on Saturday.
