WORCESTER is going World Cup crazy on the eve of England's biggest match for more than a decade.
The Three Lions aim to eat the Brazilians for breakfast as the Faithful City swings behind Sven's men's attempt to lift the World Cup for the first time since 1966.
A win would bring a mouth-watering semi-final tie against Senegal or Turkey if Beckham and the boys can break the samba boys' rhythm.
Faithful City pubs are again opening their doors from 7am to satisfy the new English "pastime" of beer with breakfast. The fans have the option of hitting a "night" club straight after the match and launching straight into a samba party at Bushwackers, in The Cross.
According to AA Roadwatch, the fans' support for the national team is so great the streets of Worcester are expected to be empty of traffic.
"For the morning match against Nigeria, we hardly had any cars on the city roads at all," said a spokesman. "Against Brazil, we think it will be even quieter."
The St George's flag is being flown from hundreds of city homes as householders show their colours.
Samba fever has gripped patriotic pupils and staff throughout the schools in Worcester. Many are opening their doors and supplying bacon butties to satisfy the appetites of soccer-mad youngsters.
Factory workers have even abandoned their overalls in favour of football strips to raise money for charity and create a fantastic atmosphere.
