A STUDENT who saw his friend being attacked outside a Worcester nightclub knocked the assailant unconscious.
Lewis Wray saw a man raise his elbow to his friend Philip Argent as they left Le Mango, in Angel Place.
Worcester magistrates heard the 20-year-old Cardiff Business School student admit the Friday, May 10, assault.

"Mr Calding hit out and got his lip. Mr Wray involved himself. He proceeded to punch Mr Calding in the face."
The court heard he lost consciousness and needed hospital treatment.

Argent, 20, of Wykewane, Malvern, who was charged with assault by beating, was bound over to keep the peace for 12 months to the sum of £120.
Wray was conditionally discharged for two years. He was ordered to pay £500 compensation and £118 costs.
