BUOYANT Tom Moody was in bullish mood after Worcestershire were handed a cracking quarter-final clash at Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy holders Somerset.

The New Road director of cricket said the County had little to fear after a fourth round eight-wicket win over Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge yesterday.

Skipper Graeme Hick and Vikram Solanki hit their first one-day hundreds of the season -- and shared a 195-run second wicket stand -- as Worcestershire reached a target of 263 with six overs to spare.

Moody was keen to talk up Worcestershire's chances of progressing to the semi-finals as they began to focus on a trip to Taunton on July 16 or 17.

"We respect them because they are a good side but we're not a bad side ourselves," said the Australian.

"We've already visited them once this season when they had Trescothick and Caddick in their side and we came away with a convincing win. So there is no great fear in going there again."

Moody was particularly pleased yesterday with Solanki and Hick's contributions after a relatively lean time of late for the former England stars.

"It doesn't matter how good a player you are, if the runs aren't coming then you feel under pressure," added Moody. "We have set high standards so far this season and everyone likes to come to the party and feel they are contributing the way they want to.

"I think their performances were the most positive signs yesterday. Everyone relies on confidence and I think their performances have now given them the platform to push on now for the rest of the season."

Moody paid tribute to South African legend Allan Donald, who took 1-24 in 10 overs in his final match for Worcestershire after filling in for Andy Bichel.

"You can see why he has been so successful in his career. He's had a massive impact on and off the field for us in his short spell here," said Moody.
