I ATTENDED the jubilee celebration at Kidderminster Town Hall on Saturday, June 1, advertised as "Hits from the Blitz".
As a teenager during the war I was anticipating an enjoyable evening of nostalgia, with songs we sang and listened to on the radio.
I was very disappointed that the performance, in my opinion, contained items not particularly associated with the Second World War, and none of our well-known favourites were included, such as Vera Lynn, Anne Shelton etc.
The costumes of the performers were not in keeping with the 1940s and I found the material of the "comedian" most offensive and embarrassing. Not at all what I was expecting.
I appreciate that the committee had worked to put on a show which should have been entertaining, but it did not truly reflect the "Hits from the Blitz".
