ONE of the oldest soccer trophies in the county of Worcestershire, the 125-year-old Pershore Hospital Cup, has lived its reign as a Saturday competition.

The cup's committee have decided, mainly through lack of support and lack of interest in local Saturday amateur football to turn it into a Sunday competition with approval of the Worcester-shire FA.

The cup has become the Pershore Hospital Junior Cup and Sunday League club's, who play in Premier and Division One of their leag-ues, are invited to enter the competition.

The existing Pershore Hospital Sunday Cup has become the Minor Cup and clubs who are in Division Two and below in their leagues, can enter the competition.

There is more amateur football played on Sundays and the cup's committee hope the change in competitions will create more interest and support for this worthy cause, which makes donations yearly to the Pershore Cottage Hospital, mainly to purchase much needed equipment.

Sponsors, Richard Will-iams, estate agents, and Per-shore Retail Market are both pleased to support this new venture.

Clubs interested in entering the competitions should contact the secretary, Peter Wonfor on 01905 840912 or chairman Cyril Millward, on 01386 555385.
