COLWALL progressed into the regional final of the National Village Knockout with a narrow 13-run win over Feckenham.

After being put into bat on a grassy track Colwall's Richard Williams and Tom Wolfendale put on 47 runs before Wolfendale gloved to 'keeper Fletcher for a steady 31 runs.

Williams hit three sixes and his hard-earned 40 allowed a surge in the last 15 overs which saw Steve Ferguson's strike 39 in 37 balls and Martin Oliver's score rapid unbeaten 29 to help Colwall through to 183-8 in their 40 overs.

The home side replied positively and kept up the pressure to reach 125-4 after 30 overs before Dave Sutton's swung the game back into Colwall's advantage as his five wicket haul for 27 runs took the vital wickets of Monk and Henning.

Williams (3-44) wrapped up proceedings to leave Feckenham 170 all out.

Colwall failed to make it a double win at the weekend as they suffered a one-wicket league defeat at Devizes.

Dave Powell scored a gritty 50 runs to help Colwall to 153-6 shared a partnership of 61 with Pete Butler.

Dave Sutton tore through the top order for figures of 4-29 while Pete Thomas took a fine 5-51 but a late Devizes surge secured victory with two wickets left.
