COLOURFUL displays should be dazzling judges at a capital flower show next month.
A window box and a hanging basket, created by Kidderminster Horticultural Society, will battle it out with rivals from around the country at the Hampton Court Flower Show in London. Graham Ford with Kidderminster Horticultural Society's entries for next month's Hampton Court Flower Show.
The society is hoping to add to successes at the 1997 and 1999 Chelsea show when it scooped silver and bronze awards.
Member Graham Ford - who is also the co-ordinator for the show at Hampton Court Palace - has created the exhibits, plus a pair of replicas to be raffled at this Saturday's Kidderminster Carnival in aid of the event's charities.
"As this is the jubilee year, I've picked golden and yellow colours, so the window boxes and hanging baskets are very bright and colourful," he said.
Although Mr Ford, of Holman Street, Kidderminster, will not be at the July 8-14 event, two society committee members will attend and he says he is "quietly confident" of success.
