DONATIONS in aid of an appeal to build a new hospice for terminally-ill children have been flooding in with £90,000 received in the last month.
The Acorns' Three Counties Appeal, which was launched in April, has so far raised £388,246 of the £4 million needed to build the Worcester centre for children in Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.
The support includes an anonymous donation of £50,000, while £29,077 of the £38,246 raised by the community was collected in Worcestershire.
Fran Winterbourn, community fundraising co-ordinator, said: "We are absolutely delighted with the way the appeal is going.
"Public response is going from strength to strength and we are confident that the fund-raising will grow even more quickly over the coming months."
