TIGHT bowling and sharp fielding contained Dumbleton's Under-12s throughout the innings with only Pruden and Harroll in a stand of 14 making much headway in their total of 221-4.

North Cotswold Young Cricketers main bowling honours were shared by Alex Dancer (1-2) and Stuart Philips (1-7) while Andrew Fisher contributed with a splendid run out from a direct throw and fine catch at deep fine leg.

Defending a modest total the NCYCC batsmen were made to work hard for their runs with spirited bowling and fielding. It wasn't until Luke Fisher (15) arrived at the crease that the chasers gained the upper hand to win by 22 runs.

Under-13 openers Matt Spencer (28) and Richard Spencer (16) hammered the Great Alne bowlers to all parts of the ground in their 47-run opening partnership.

Their departures brought a slow down in the run rate but William Dee (21) accelerated the rate to post a formidable 295-2.

Despite a spirited challenge Great Alne were never in the hunt and finished at 227-5. William Dee capped a good all round performance by taking 2-2.

A sound all-round display from the table topping Under-14s produced a 71-run victory over Bretforton.

Matthew Mitchell (18), Chris Belcher (12) and Tom Clarkson were the main contributors in a total of 254-4.

For Bretforton, Reeve (1-6) and With (1-1) shone with the ball.

Losing wickets at regular intervals Bretforton were only able to muster 183-9. Chris Belcher (2-10), David Turner (2-9) impressed with the ball.

NCYCC Under-16s snatched a last over victory by four wickets against Evesham.

Howman (27ret), Lloyd (26ret) and Howard (18no), aided by an unusual number of wides and no balls, lifted Evesham to 105-1.

Skipper Wil Green (26ret) batted solidly for NCYCC but, with wickets falling at the other end, it was only a resolute innings from Tom Clarkson (16) that steered the home side towards their target.
