ELEVEN members travelled to Black Hills in Stratford last Sunday for the opening match of the Summer Series.
With a warm breeze behind them, all the participants settled early into a steady rhythm and many fish were caught.
Leading the way was Ray Woods who managed to put 18.12.0, mainly carp, into his nets.
In second place was Wayne Panting (18.3.0) and bringing up the rear of the top three was Roy Thomson (16.7.0).
In the first round of the Knockout Cup, Barry Castle got the better of Pat Howe, Rob Lake overcame Duncan Lamb while Roy Thomson defeated Jim Taylor.
Members are reminded that tonight sees the first round of the Summer Evening League while those travelling to Furnace Mill on Sunday are to meet at the Post Office on Sunday for a 6.30am departure.
Evesham WMC
FISHING their first match of the season at Rissington Road Lake the Workies found plenty of fish moving but not feeding at this prolific water.
The winner was Geoff Spiers with 31.15.0, second was John Pouch (30.2.0) and third Robin Locke (27.9.0).
The next match is at Crop-thorne, draw at 7am.
Evesham Jubilee Society
CATCHES weren't as good as expected at the Tuesday evening Open at the Jubilee Fishery.
However, a close finish was contested with N Green taking the honours with 11.14.0.
Matches will continue every Tuesday with the draw between 5.30 and 5.45pm.
Tim Hunt caught carp on waggler to maggot bait to win the Simon de Montfort Cup at Willow Fishery.
However, members were disappointed overall with the sport and they will be hoping for better fortune for this Sunday's Avon Shield Series match at Wilmots, Draw 7am at bank side.

Lemington Lakes
ONE of three brothers from Charterhouse AC, part of a 27-strong visiting contingent, combined to land a winning weight of 104lbs on the Match Lake.
The five-hour match was contested in quite choppy waters but, as results proved, there were plenty of fish about.

THE venue is fishing well for roach and carp with the Top Pool starting to show some nice carp, mainly caught on caster and corn.
Anglers are taking bags in excess of 20lbs.
