SO our city council has succumbed to business pressures in agreeing to 24-hour opening at Tesco's St Peter's store, despite more than 200 residents' logical objections by letter and by petition.
This shows the council and Tesco's total disregard for the welfare and well-being of most of the residents of St Peter's.
We are already subjected to "rat-run" traffic and are now likely to have added traffic noise and pollution during unsociable hours, together with possible increases in crime.
Residents can now only work toward the decision being reversed but, in the meantime, my family for one will now boycott the store and petrol station in protest, thereby reducing their turnover by some £10,000 per year.
I sincerely hope that other concerned residents will do the same.
E J BROWN,
St Peter's, Worcester.
