A VILLAGE school's maths test results has put it in the top five per cent nationally.
Chaddesley Corbett Endowed First School received an A* rating from Ofsted, the school inspectorate, based on SAT results from Year 2 pupils last May.
The school also performed well in maths compared with other schools in similar socio-economic areas.
Tim Ireson, who has been headteacher at the 116-pupil school for five years, welcomed both the result and the Ofsted report released earlier this month following a four-day visit in March.
It details improvements since the previous report in 2000 in areas including the quality of teaching, now deemed to be very good throughout the school.
Mr Ireson said: "What is most gratifying is that the report said teachers like teaching and children like learning.
"I'm very pleased for the whole staff team. They've worked very hard and come out well."
