Re: Miss Margaret Taylor, deceased. I refer to the article in a recent edition. 'Electricity worry may have led to fire death' in which Miss Taylor is referred to as 'An eccentric elderly woman'.
Originally, in your paper, she was referred to as 'eccentric' and the following week her neighbour sent you a letter praising her stating she was not 'eccentric', but a lovely lady.
I would like to point out that, on behalf of myself and colleagues who worked at Evesham Hospital with this lady, she was not eccentric, but a kind, very well educated lady who was loved by colleagues and patients.
I met her after when shopping and had a lovely conversation with her a few days before her tragic death. I would point out she was perfectly normal.
My colleagues and I feel that to refer to this lady in such an unkind way is very unfeeling.
She was an independent lady who in our view, was absolutely normal.
