KIDDERMINSTER'S young third team forced a draw in a close encounter at high-flying Alvechurch and Hopwood in Worcestershire Saturday League Division Six.
Tight bowling and outstanding catching contributed to KCC bowling out the home team for 123.
Lee Daniels' 4-14 was the pick of the bowling although Ian Kimberlin's 11 overs for just 19 runs was excellent support.
Andy Logan and Tony Burkes also picked up two wickets each, while Steve Jones marked his debut with two catches.
In reply, KCC were soon in trouble on a green wicket at 29-5 as Andy Logan's quick-fire 24 offered the only resistance in the early stages.
Then, for the second match running, I Kimberlin and his 13-year-old son Andy steadied the innings with another excellent partnership.
Jones also contributed a valiant 22 not out and the visitors finished on 94-7 to claim a draw, extending their unbeaten record to two matches.
Fixture, Saturday: Kidderminster 3rds v Vine (2pm).
