A SURPRISE home defeat to relegation-threatened Astwood Bank has left Chaddesley Corbett 60 points away from the Worcestershire League Division One summit.
Fourth-placed Chaddesley failed to score enough runs on Saturday and Astwood Bank, who were rock bottom before the game, edged home by one wicket.
Unbeaten Old Elizabethans now head the division on 166 points ahead of Pedmore and Pershore.
Chaddesley had Ian Chambers (63 not out) to thank for their 192-7 though George Baylis weighed in with 45.
But despite Dave Perry's battling 6-51, Astwood Bank managed to crawl to their target and leave Chaddesley with just seven points.

The seconds did not fare much better, gaining nine points from a losing draw at struggling Astwood Bank in another shock result.
Third-placed Chaddesley were set a big total of 256-7 by their opponents and had to hold on with two wickets left but 42 runs short.

Chaddesley completed a poor Saturday for the village club with a home 130-run defeat to Alvechurch and Hopwood in the Third Teams Single League.
They were dismissed for just 51 runs and returned with just one point.
