DETAILS of a multi-million pound regeneration scheme for Worcester's Diglis Basin were announced today.
British Waterways and Bryant Homes have submitted a joint planning application to Worcester City Council to redevelop more than 25 acres of waterfront land surrounding the basin.
The scheme includes plans for 550 new houses and apartments alongside plans to replace a number of derelict and under-used buildings on the site with new offices, a restaurant, bar and shop.
"Diglis Basin has unique regeneration potential and our proposals will establish Diglis waterfront as a vibrant and attractive destination to live, work and relax," said Mike Tilt, spokesman for British Waterways.
Plans for a public exhibition of the proposals in Worcester are due to be announced.
The application is likely to be considered by Worcester City Council later this year.
