A MALVERN comic book artist is bidding to become the next Stan Lee as he searches Stateside for someone to publish of his work.
Jamie McKelvie, of Larchfield Close, has created a six-page version of his title Suburban Glamour, which will be distributed at the San Diego comic convention, Comic-Con International in August.
The 22-year-old's big chance came around through American artist Chynna Clugston-Major, the award-nominated writer responsible for the Blue Monday series. Jamie became acquainted with her through the US publisher Oni Press, with whom Jamie's band King Monkey has released a record.
"She's going to be giving it to everybody who comes up to her table at the convention," he said.
Jamie is hoping that the American exposure will build on positive feedback over here.
"I've had a lot of good responses from inside the industry as well as out and that's nice," he said.
