TOM Chappell, a pupil at Malvern College, currently boasts a batting average of an incredible 156 runs.
Tom is a member of the College U14's side and so far he has scored 623 runs in ten matches, including six not out innings with an average of 156. He has made two scores in the 90s and consecutive hundreds against Dean Close, Cheltenham, and King's Gloucester.
Andy Murtagh, the master in charge of cricket at Malvern, cannot remember such heavy scoring by a cricketer at the school. Tom himself is delightfully modest about his achievement and wants only to replicate some of his form when he plays for the County U14's side.
