AN England appearance in the World Cup final would not affect Upton Jazz Festival, despite the fact that the two events would clash.
Organiser "Sir" Alan Buckley said there would be no question of altering schedules even if Sven-Gran Eriksson's men progress to the final on Sunday, June 30, which is also the last day of the festival.
"It makes no difference to us," he said. "We've fixed the programme and that's it. It's not going to make much difference for a couple of hours."
Mr Buckley said the festival always had to compete with other events, including Wimbledon, the World Cup every four years and Glastonbury.
He said that an England World Cup win could even benefit the festival. "Everybody will come down to Upton to celebrate," he said.
The final, being staged at Yokohama, in Japan, kicks off at noon BST.
