ON April 26 your headline was about our former town clerk receiving a pay out of £186,000 for his early retirement because he was so upset that Malvern Town Action Group had criticised him. According to the figures you published, when all the various bonuses etc are included his total pay off was £228,966, plus £3,401 each year for life.
I hope he is very happy in his new job and that no-one in Somerset, or wherever he is now working, says anything nasty to him because he might again be forced to take another 'early retirement' and cost another county's taxpayers a lot of money.
Why has this flagrant misuse of OUR money been ignored or conveniently forgotten? Is everyone in Malvern content with this or does no-one really care?
IAN FEARNSIDE, Church Street, Malvern.
