RE: An M5 connection to Guarlford Road. This suggestion seems to be very shortsighted. If the country is eventually to be filled with groups of houses all connected by wide straight roads as in other countries, then the English countryside has no future.

The only way it can survive is if pleasant rural areas such as that surrounding the Old Hills and Callow End are left bypassed as at present, with no more sodium lit racetracks cut through or near them, which is what Guarlford Road would become.

In my experience, delays in getting to Malvern from the M5 north are often caused by the roundabout at the east end of the new bridge. If it was replaced by a flyover, Worcester traffic going N-S and Malvern-M5 traffic would then flow smoothly.

Please do not support the Milton Keynes type vandals - the English countryside is nearly unique in the world, and makes life worth living even in our poor climate.
