A MALVERN landowner has agreed in principle to let Malvern Town Football Club purchase land to create a new ground.

The club's general manager Richard Anson said he could not reveal its whereabouts without jeopardising the "delicate and complex" deal.

He said the proposed site had sufficient room for a main pitch, secondary pitch and training facilities.

Malvern Hills District Council chief executive Chris Bocock is to meet representatives from the club next week to thrash out what the authority will want to see before granting planning permission.

"We need council support for this," said Mr Anson. "It won't happen without it."
