DAVID Hine is the new President of Worcester Referees Society.
The 45-year-old Football League assistant referee was elected without opposition at the society's recent annual meeting.
Hine, who has been a member of the society for 29 years, replaces the late Gerald Ashby in this prestigious position.
Other Officers elected were: Chairman, Steve Dorr; Vice-Chairman, Tim Phillips; Secretary, Roger King; Treasurer, Andy Daniel; Development Officer, Jeff Widdett; Social Secretary, Neil Radford.
Julia Ashby, Gerald's widow, was unanimously elected as a Life Member.
Meanwhile, Hine picked up the trophy for Referee of the Year at the society's recent annual dinner and dance.
Nationwide Conference referee Dorr won the Member of the Year Trophy and Russell Thomas was Assistant Referee of the Year.
A new trophy donated by the Select List of Premiership Referees for the Young Referee of the Year was won by Tim Curtis who received his award from Premiership referee Alan Wiley.
