THERE'S a rare chance to hear one of the best youth choirs in the world perform in Malvern next week.
The Chase Technology College is hosting a visit by the Aurin Choir which hails from the Kodaly School at Kesckemet, Hungary.
The choir is visiting the school on Tuesday (June 25) and will be holding workshops for pupils.
The same evening, the Hungarian musicians will be joining forces with their counterparts from The Chase for a concert at Malvern Priory.
The Aurin Choir, under the direction of Laszlo Duranyik, is generally rated as one of the finest young choirs in the world. It is based at the town of Kesckemet, birthplace of Zoltan Kodaly, one of the most renowned Hungarian composers.
The choir was formed in 1999 and has toured many parts of the world, won an impressive array of medals and taken first place in many competitions.
Mike Kent-Davies, head of music at The Chase , said: "We're really pleased the Aurin Choir is visiting us. They will be working with our A Capella II choir, which is mainly made up of Year 8 and 9 pupils."
As part of their visit to the UK, choir is also taking part in the first Chipping Campden Music Festival, which starts tomorrow (Saturday).
Tickets for the Malvern Priory concert, at 7.30pm, are available from The Chase or on the door. They are £5 adults and £2 children.
