I AM very sure that the Rev D G Griffin does not take any of the positions that Mr Eaton suggests he might (You Say, June 13).
It seems silly to suggest that he might on the basis of his unfashionable stance on other issues.
It is the business of the Christian Church to relate the unchanging values and laws of scripture to a rapidly changing world.
It is sensible to accept positive changes in society but to be cautious in accepting other changes.
Two of the issues mentioned (women ministers and homosexuality) deal with an increased confusion over gender in our society.
The other, cannabis, deals with a culture of pleasure-seeking and intoxication.
Serious consideration of these issues is called for, not a frivolous move to be "right on".
MATTHEW A CLARKE,
Worcester.
