Students at The Chase are about to offer something dramatic to fill any footy- free evenings.
The school stages Gregory's Girl, a Bill Forsyth-penned football-related comedy from the early 1980s, on June 27, 28 and 29.
"It's a comedy about football, adolescents, romance and pastry!" explained teacher Jeremy Bull.
"We thought it was a good time to do it because of the World Cup. It is the same weekend as the final, although it won't clash because of time differences."
The play - a straight play that has had original songs written by Chase student Michael Mann inserted between scenes - is being performed by mainly Year 10 students.
Another reason for choosing the play, which starred John Gordon Sinclair in the film version, is the amount of parts it offers.
Tickets are available from the Chase (01684 891961) and cost £4 for adults and £2 for students, OAPs children and concessions.
