THE new Mayor of Worcester, Councillor Robert Rowden, will be taking centre stage tomorrow.
A civic service, due to be held in Worcester's cathedral, will formally welcome the new Mayor to his civic office.
The ceremony will start at 10.30am.
The event involves the Mayor and council members processing in state from the city's Guildhall in the High Street, starting at 10.10am.
From there the procession will make its way to the cathedral.
Dignitaries
The Mayor will be accompanied by former mayors of the Faithful City, as well as other dignitaries from surrounding Worcestershire local authorities.
Readings during the service will be done by the Mayor and the chief executive of the council, David Wareing, with the Mayor's chaplain, Ken Boyce, leading prayers for the city.
"Mayor's Sunday is a special day for every Mayor and I hope to be well supported by fellow councillors, local organisations and the public," said Coun Rowden.
"I am sure that the service will be one I shall always remember. It is an honour to be central to it and to serve the city."
Members of the public are welcome to attend.
