Worcester shoppers will be able to find out all about arts groups today when Worcester Arts Council hosts its annual Arts Saturday event at the Guildhall.
There will be free performances throughout the day with members of the various groups manning display stands on hand to provide details of activities and membership.
Worcester Arts Council consists of representatives of arts groups and individuals dedicated to promoting, producing and supporting the arts in Worcester.
An elected executive committee manages the Worcester Arts Council's funds and allocates grant aid for local arts projects in addition to organising training and social events for the whole membership.
Worcester Arts Council is lively and welcoming, it combines the professional and the amateur and aims to assist its members in achieving the best and most exciting work for the city.
Groups and individuals taking parts in Arts Saturday, which runs from 10am until 4pm, include Dance Fest, King's School Theatre, pianist Mark Spybey, Somers Traditional Folk Club, Swan Playwrights, Swan Theatre Company, the Uren family trio, Worcester Competitive Arts Festival, Worcester Concert Brass, Worcester Festival Choral Society, Worcester Gilbert and Sullivan Society, Worcester Male Voice Choir, Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Society, Worcester Society of Artists and Worcester Symphony Orchestra.
