Atch Lench: Mary Young, of Atch Lench, was charged with behaving in an indecent manner in Coopers Lane on June 7. PC Groves furnished the particulars and PS Yarnold corroborated, deposing that he had had complaints from a great many people in the town about her conduct. She had a very bad character and was sent down for 14 days.

Evesham: The new Evesham Post Office, which has been built in the Evesham Market Place on the site of the old Post Office, will be opened next Saturday. By invitation of the Postal Authorities, the opening ceremony will be performed by the Mayor of Evesham (Alderman Henry Masters) at the front entrance. Following the opening ceremony, postal business will continue to be transacted in the new Post Office building during the remainder of the day.

Evesham: A tug-of-war championship open to teams throughout the Vale of Evesham will be a new feature of this year's three-day Evesham Horse Show and Gymkhana on August 4, 6 and 7. The tug of war will take place on Saturday afternoon. The winners will receive a challenge cup with 8 replicas plus £18 and a barrel of beer. The runners-up will receive £9.

Wychavon: Owners of pleasure boats seating ten people or less should pay an annual licence fee of 50p per seat to Wychavon, it was decided on Tuesday. This would mean that a canoe licence would cost 50p, but an owner of a boat seating ten people would have to pay five pounds. Members decided that larger pleasure boats would not have to be licenced.
