THE new Mayor of Worcester, Councillor Robert Rowden, enjoyed a special service in the Cathedral to mark the start of his year in office.
Coun Rowden and wife Hope were joined by civic dignitaries for yesterday's service, which was preceded by a procession from the Guildhall at 10am.
Former mayors of the Faithful City were also present, as well as representatives from surrounding local authorities, the police and other organisations.
"Mayor's Sunday is a special day for every mayor," said Coun Rowden.
"I am sure I shall always remember the service and it was an honour to be central to it and to serve the city."
