YOUTH leaders in Broadway, near Evesham, are appealing to firms, businesses and individuals to help them raise cash for a skateboard and BMX track.
The project is moving a step nearer now a formal application for a grant has been accepted by Wychavon District Council.
Vice-chairman of the youth management committee, Amanda Peters, has applied to the council for a grant of £20,000.
The committee is also organising a number of sponsored events, and preparing applications for grants from other organisations, including the National Lottery.
Chairman of the Broadway Youth Centre, Betty Phillips, said the skate park was a priority because young people had campaigned for it for so long.
