THE Severn Valley Railway will be steaming back through time when it launches its latest set of 1940s weekends.
The railway will be transformed for 10 days as passengers and staff are taken back to the days of a country at war.
Passengers are being invited to dress up in wartime garb, windows will be taped up to protect from bomb blasts, and re-enactment groups will be invited to create a wartime feeling.
Most of the action is being centred at Kidderminster town station, where a food rationing stall will be set up to illustrate a scene from 1940s life.
Sales stands of 1940s clothes will also be in place at Bridgnorth station for anyone who feels like dressing up to get in the mood.
The 1940s weekends are being held on Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30, and Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7.
