A MEETING of the Evesham Joint Hospital Board was called to try to find a solution to the overcrowding of the hospital. The Medical Officer of Health explained that there were 35 patients under treatment, which was a larger number than the hospital could accommodate. It was resolved that an iron building extension be put up at a cost of £150.

THERE was a crowded attendance at the Broad Street Baptist schoolroom in Pershore on Tuesday evening, when the pastor, the Rev L G Schofield, gave a charming illustrated lantern lecture on "Black Beauty", the well-known book by Anna Sewell. Mr J Brown was in charge of the lantern.

March 22 1952

NORTH and Middle Littleton Parochial Church Council at their meeting on Monday decided to go forward with plans for installing electric lighting in St Nicholas Church. The scheme was started almost two years ago but delays had stopped any progress. The vicar, the Rev E Waddy, said he hoped it would be fitted soon.

THE Vale of Evesham is to be the first area in the county to get a radically new "viable network" of bus services starting in May. At a press conference organised by the National Bus Company in Redditch today, plans to operate a number of mini-buses in the Vale are being unveiled to counter the serious losses which will be suffered if the county carries out its threat to cut off all subsidies to Midland Red.
