A CHARITY helping youngsters with leukaemia is calling on the people of Worcestershire to get on their bikes and cycle the glorious countryside of South-West Ireland for a good cause.
The Anthony Nolan Trust is currently offering a late summer break for a 40-mile per day cycle from County Cork to County Kerry, which will provide funds for its charity.
The ride takes place between Wednesday, September 4, and Thursday, September 12, and will involve cycling through the hills and mountains and along coastal roads.
Tour operators Bike Events will carry the luggage and provide the meals from a circus tent.
All the money raised from the bike ride will fund the trust's work, which helps 7,000 patients with leukaemia and related diseases, who desperately need a bone marrow or blood stem cell transplant.
"We rely on the generosity of the public to fund the transplants and our research into the diseases," said Paul Montgomery, spokesman for the Anthony Nolan trust.
