DROITWICH Snooker Centre have ended an eight-year wait for success after being crowned champions of the Droitwich and District Snooker League.
The centre's 'A' team won the division one title from second place Aston Fields Social Club 'A'.
It is the first time since 1994 the team has won the title, the year when current captain Steve Dunn made the league's highest ever break of 126.
Continuing the success for the club was Alan Morgan, whose scores made him the best player in the league for the season.
Lee Cooper from Catshill Working Men's Club compiled the season's highest break of 66 while at the end of the scale, Droitwich Snooker Centre 'B' finished bottom of division one and face relegation.
Replacing them in the top flight for next season is Droitwich Royal British Legion Club 'B', who won division two. Runners-up were Droitwich Golf Club 'A'.
The highest break in division two of 37 was shared by G Thomas of Millfields YB and D Rutter of Bromsgrove Royal British Legion 'A'. Millfields YB finished bottom and get the wooden spoon.
Elsewhere, Bromsgrove Police Club 'A' won the Ansells Cup, Droitwich Snooker Centre 'A' claimed the Howard Harrison Cup and the Gwilliam Russell Cup went to Bromsgrove Unionist Club 'B'.
