BROMSGROVE Golf Club's 17-24 Handicap team is finally off the mark in the league with a convincing win at Cannock Park last Saturday.
In gusty conditions with some lightening fast greens, Bromsgrove recorded an aggregate team Stableford score of 260 points, beating the excellent hosts by 19 points.
Bromsgrove were represented by Paul Handley (23 points), Bob Brehaut (41), Gerald Woodcock (38), Rob Kindon (30), Peter Rooke (34), Mike Thomas (28), Barrie Claridge (37) and Steve Hart (29).
Bromsgrove now have four league matches left to secure a promotion position and their next league match is at Boldmere Golf Club on Saturday, July 20.
Captain Steve Hart said: "This definitely kick starts our league campaign. After losing the first two league matches by very close margins, this result was very welcome and pleasing.
"We can still get promotion if we win all our remaining games."
