CALLOW Hill ace Jason Wilshaw is sitting on a comfortable lead after another successful weekend in the Classics Club Post Classics Series.
The Redditch biker posted two third places in an eventful weekend at the Rockingham Oval.
And with chief rival Mark Carkeek crashing and suffering serious injuries in the first race, Wilshaw's 52-point advantage was extended further.
Ironically, it was Carkeek who helped Wilshaw on an unfamiliar circuit for the reigning champ.
Carkeek took an early lead in race one with Wilshaw third but high-sided on a track which has proved unpopular with bikers because of its concrete walls.
After the ten-lap race restarted, Wilshaw led for four laps before dropping to concentrate on bagging more championship points by finishing on the podium.
Wilshaw led the way again for a similar distance on race but could not hold off the challenge of old rival Mark Pinkney, whose win took him past Carkeek into second on the leaderboard.
Wilshaw heads north to Croft on Saturday August 10 for the next two championship races and the prestigious non points scoring Race of the Year.
And with 14 races left, Wilshaw has only to stay consistently in the top five to bag another championship.
