CRICKET fans were treated to a feast of batting at the weekend as three Bromsgrove and Droitwich Spa batsmen hit a total of 543 runs between them, compiling four centuries in the process.
Avoncroft's David James, Cutnall Green's Neil Fletcher and Droitwich Spa captain Ian Duggan all passed the ton barrier during their side's respective victories at the weekend.
James was in blistering form as he hit a quickfire 173 not out during Avoncroft's 70-run victory at Old Vigornians.
Fletcher knocked in two centuries in the space of 24 hours, 131 not out and 120, the second time he has achieved such a feat this season.
And, completing a fine weekend for the batsmen, Duggan notched up 119 not out as his side won their fourth game of the campaign.
James reached his impressive tally in 34 overs, lasting 110 minutes. Having taken an hour to compile his half century, James needed only 45 further minutes to reach 150.
