ORGANISERS of this year's Alexandra Hospital fete are hoping to raise £10,000 to buy special beds for the orthopaedic and trauma wards.
The hospital's League of Friends is busy preparing for this year's event on Saturday, July 6.
Cash raised will go towards the beds which will enable staff to make seriously ill patients more comfortable and reduce the physical effort required to attend to their needs.
Redditch Mayor Steve Wheeler will open the fete, accompanied by Kingfisher Cadet Band, and there will be events in the arena, stalls, children's entertainer, games and a raffle.
Prizes include a £200 mountain bike and the raffle will be drawn just after 4pm.
League chairman Pat Hadley is appealing for members' support in the run-up to the big day.
The fete begins at the Alexandra Hospital at 2pm and parking is free.
