WORCESTERSHIRE'S bowls players made it two wins out of two in this season's Middleton Cup with a 35-shot success over Herefordshire at Gilt Edge, Kidderminster.

Worcestershire had the upper hand for most of the early stages of the game on an excellent green before Herefordshire managed to conquer its pace.

Excellent bowling by Rob McCaughtrie's rink enabled them to turn around an eight-shot deficit at 15 ends to run out winners by two shots over Bryn Powell.

Worcestershire, who took 20 points to Herefordshire's two, play Gloucestershire on July 6 at Suffolk Square, Cheltenham, knowing victory will take them into the national stages.
