A PLAGUE of rats in Redditch town centre has finally been brought under control with a baiting and monitoring programme.
In December, the Redditch Advertiser reported how a big rise in the number of the rodents scurrying around the town centre had led to hundreds of complaints from residents.
Rat numbers had doubled and people reported finding them inside their homes.
Environmental health officers were working around the clock to deal with the problem.
But at a Batchley neighbourhood group meeting, residents were assured the problem had been solved.
