SIX bands will be battling it out for top spot in a Battle of the Bands competition at The Venue, Hewell Road, on Saturday.
The competition is being staged by Fecentrly Promotions and each band will play 20-minute sets, the top three bands winning prizes.
First prize is the band's track being put on a compilation CD of which 1,000 copies will be made and distributed across the country thanks to Insurrection Promotions, as well as five hours of studio recording time courtesy of Selly Oak studios Rich Bitch.
There are two runners up prizes of five hours studio recording time.
The bands taking part are Season, Double Standard, Circus Act, Jeterson Eddy, Electric Eden and Kojima.
Doors open at about 7.30pm and entry costs £4.
Fecentrly Promotions also presents The Kennedy Soundtrack, a Welsh up-and-coming rap/rock band, who will perform at The Venue on Friday, September 6.
Support bands will all be local - already confirmed are Fishbox, a popular metal band with a loyal fanbase.
Lil' Sumo are also likely to play.
