MOTORISTS will have to face overnight delays on the M5 for the next week.
The M5 northbound will be closed between junction 4 at Bromsgrove and junction 5 at Droitwich from 9pm to 5am from today (wednesday) until Saturday morning and between the same hours from next Monday to next Tuesday.
The link road from the M42 south to the M5 north at junction 4a will be shut from 9pm tomorrow (Thursday) to 5am on Saturday and 9pm on Monday to 5am on Tuesday. Diversions will be signposted taking traffic through M42 junction 1 and the A38 to M5 junction 4.
The M5 will be closed southbound between junction 4 and 4a from 9pm next Tuesday to 5am on Wednesday, July 3, with diversions via junction 4 and A38. Drivers wanting to join the M5 south from the M42 south will still be able to use the link road. The closures are to put in a £3.7million incident detection and signing system that can set signals automatically when traffic queues form.
