A GROUP of talented youngsters from a Bromsgrove first school put their handyman skills to the test when they visited the town's museum.
Around 30 pupils from Millfields First School in Swift Close took part in a design and build challenge, which focussed on redesigning the tearoom and ticket office at Avoncroft Museum of Buildings in Stoke Heath.
This involved a visit from the museum staff who gave the children a design brief, teaching them how to draw accurate plans, safety aspects and how to cost the materials.
Headteacher Sarah Power said: "The children had a super day.
"They particularly enjoyed the practical building activities and are now having enormous fun making large 3D models of their ideal tearoom.
"Our grateful thanks go to everyone who assisted with the project and provided our children with some very valuable experiences and opportunities that they certainly couldn't get in the classroom."
The project was led by a partnership between Embark and the Worcestershire Construction Training Group.
