A NIGHT at the prom was enjoyed by Rubery students who donned their glad rags for a very special evening.
Teenagers from Waseley Hills High School swapped school uniforms for elegant ballgowns and smart suits when they partied the night away at their school leavers' prom.
The year 11 students have been hard at work doing GCSE exams but on Wednesday, June 19, they let their hair down at the Botanical Gardens, in Birmingham.
Continuing an American tradition, many pupils hired luxury stretch limousines to take them to Waseley's second ever prom in style and they later enjoyed a sit down meal and disco.
Employment
Laura Chambers, of The Pines, Rubery and classmate Stacey Bridge, of Middle Drive, Cofton Hackett, both aged 16, teamed up with teachers to help organise the event for more than 100 students and staff.
Laura said: "It was a great night and I think everyone had a really good time."
Some students will now leave Waseley for college studies or employment, while others will continue their education at the school's sixth form college.
