IT'S carnival time again in Bromsgrove and this year fun-seekers can look forward to a two-day gala.
Organisers are hoping the sun will shine on their celebrations, which have been stretched over the weekend for double delight.
There's a whole feast of family entertainment this Saturday, at Sanders Park, following the colourful procession from the Recreation Ground and along the High Street.
The 20 floats, including walking parties, will not make their usual parade down Worcester Road this year because of the new road layout.
A duck race, stalls, laser shooting, majorettes and gymnasts are all booked to please the crowds when the gala opens at 1pm.
And the Kidderminster Road venue is set to remain a hive of activity on Sunday - with a doggy fun day and an old-fashioned sports day.
A fun fair is booked for both days, along with a variety of entertainers, bands and choirs.
Jeff Evans, chairman of the carnival committee, said: "This year we have decided to go for a two-day event so we can really show off Bromsgrove at its best."
The community-spirited resident of Moorson Way, Aston Fields, has two main concerns - the weather and the World Cup 2002.
He added: "The World Cup final is this weekend so we are hoping to have BBC Radio 5 Live pumped out over the sound systems."
To mark the Golden Jubilee year, organisers have asked Court Leet bailiff David Turner and his wife, Avery, to lead the parade because they are due to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary this year.
Other big attractions include the BRMB Roadshow on Saturday and the Crimestoppers SNAP anti-drugs campaign music stage, which features top bands.
The carnival committee work on improving the town event virtually all year round and all cash collected on the day goes to the Princess of Wales Community Hospital, in Stourbridge Road.
