STUDLEY skipper Mark Lewis says good preparation is the secret of his side's turnaround in fortunes this season.
Second from bottom Hampton in Arden were summarily dispatched at the weekend as the Washford Fields stayed within six points of Division Two East leaders Kings Heath and cut the gap on second placed Water Orton to two points.
The villagers had a disappointing time last year but the captain says his side are being rewarded for a change in attitude this season.
Water Orton sank to a losing draw against Old Edwardians letting Studley inch closer to the top two.
Fifth placed Moseley Ashfield host Studley on Saturday (1pm start) and Lewis hopes to field an unchanged side.
Moseley are just 14 points adrift of Studley and Lewis is keen to open a gap between his side and the teams below them because of the demise of Solihull Municipal.
Warwickshire 2's will take on Northants 2's at Studley's Washford Fields home on Tuesday before facing the Minor Counties on Thursday.
Both one day matches start at 11am.
