FIVE Ways Old Edwardians are closing in on the top spot after a thumping weekend win.
The Masshouse side top Division Four West of the Warwickshire League after rolling over Erdington Court on Saturday.
The Ash Lane side posted 222 for four with Paul Bryan 110no and finished the job in style with their opponents skittled out for 90 and John Olive finishing with six for 21.
Tony Harris skippered the side with regular captain Chris Jones on holiday and was boosted by the news of leaders Bridge Trust's defeat to Handsworth.
The results saw Five Ways cut the gap on the leaders to just four points ahead of Saturday's visit to fifth placed Aston OE on Saturday (2pm start).
With Jones still on holiday, Five Ways are hoping to name an unchanged side for the first time this season and could find themselves top by the end of play.
