GREEN-FINGERED residents are being urged to transform the town into a floral success by taking part in Droitwich Spa in Bloom 2002.
The event organisers are calling for community-spirited townspeople to grab their trowels and gardening gloves and enter into one of this year's six categories.
Droitwich Spa Town Council is again sponsoring prizes for a number of the competitions as part of the annual event.
This year's categories are:
Best kept garden (large or small)
Best public buildings (e.g. council offices, police station)
Best industrial estate premises
Best community floral display by a retirement home, sheltered accommodation or street/part street.
Hanging basket competition for 1) retail shops 2) pubs and hotels 3) restaurants 4) banks, building societies, estate agents and offices 5) club premises 6)domestic (private residential property)
Best school floral display
Best floral balcony/window box display for private residential or commercial
Town judges will be scrutinising the floral entries between Monday, July 15, and Friday, July 19, and each winner will receive a prize.
Hopefully the town's efforts will also impress the Britain in Bloom regional judges who are set to visit the Spa on Tuesday, July 9.
To enter the competition just fill in the form below, or pick one up from the town clerk's office, St Richard's House, Victoria Square, Droitwich Spa. They must be returned by Friday, July 12.
Once the entries have been collected competitors may receive a call to confirm which section of the category you wish to be entered for, for example large or small garden.
